Review: Wild Ride

Wild Ride Wild Ride by Sam Crescent
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Final Score - 4 Stars!

Each book in this series is a standalone, however previous characters do make reappearances in each one. I enjoy being able to read about previous characters I've fallen in lust with and seeing how their relationships have progressed & how they help the new characters out with their.

I ADORE my motorcycle men, the rougher and aggressive they are, the more delight I take in seeing when they find/fall in love with their "forever" woman. I enjoyed the chemistry between Vengeance and Constance and each having their own inner battles at to whether or not they have found the "real deal" with one another. Constance coming out of her shell and Vengeance learning to put someone else above the club was beautiful to see as each wasn't fully living until the other "dropped" into their life.

This book is not only enjoyable but as per Jenika Snow, has great writing, steamy love scenes, and strikes the perfect balance. And now onto the wait of Weasel's story. This one is sure to be a doozy!

Final Score - 5 Stars!

Amie Knight has done it again ... she is the queen of making me #UglyCry.

This book was an emotional, fabulous, and heartwarming story - I dare you not be effected by it's Southern charm and sass as well. The heroine, Everly, was bold, and strong and she's a rock-star to survive all that she has ... she completely stole the show for me and it's because of her strength that cried so hard and loved every minute of it.

The Line is about a young homeless girl and what she does to survive in rural, small town America. She may have been victimized, but she's strong-willed & resilient, and doesn't let life kick her down any further than it already has.

One night when Everly was just 16, she met a man and that encounter changed her life. He gives her food, shelter, a shoulder to lean on. Little does she know that this man, even though he's actions are as much for him as it is for her, will save her life. Afterwards, Everly will use those memories and his kindness to get through some of the hard times that lay ahead.

The story fast forwards to where Everly, now 20, is no longer homeless. And she's about to embark on a summer spent working on a peach farm, courtesy of someone else who saved her life, dear friend Mama Lou. And even though she's nervous & excited for the new challenge, Everly feels as if her life is about to change again.

And that farm does changes her life - she not only finds people who really care about her, but kindred spirits. Most importantly, she who and what she finds is ... herself.

This story made me laugh, made me cry, gave me goosebumps, because as I was reading, the secret of this book revealed itself to me and boy was I shocked and elated! This novel wove a story that makes you keep turning the page, just to uncover the beauty that shines within - with an ending that was absolutely perfect. This was the perfect, sweet coming off age story about a lost girl finally being found.

Final Score - 5 I Can't Believe It's Over Stars!!!

Cue the violins ... I'm crying buckets here. The saga is OVER. I'm still in disbelief!

This is last installment of the War & Peace Series ... and it was more than a swan song - it was pulse pounding, heavy metal infused mosh pit. I, along with countless others knew the end was coming - but I kept hoping it was a joke or something the author said to throw us off - she's a sneaky, heartless biotch like that (I LOVE her for it & she know it *mwah*). Sadly, it wasn't. The twisted adventures of the McPhearson's are at and end. What a strange trip it's been from book one until now. It's like saying goodbye to most most screwed-up, but endearing, people you've ever met - people I consider family.

See, the thing I have always loved and has endeared me about this series, is that every character -
good or bad - every action and reaction, every darkness seeping thru the pages towards the light has carried over from book to book. And in this final novella, K. Webster has accomplished that & more! The way she writes in such a way that I could get blazing warmth and frightful shivers in the same sentence - that is quite a feat.

Although this novella was short and sweet, it was the perfect blend of crazy, sexy, hot, psychotic goodness - which only an author such as Ms. Webster can provide. I'm still struggling to say good-bye to them with a smile on my face as the knife is twisting in my heart. I’m incredibly sad to see them go.

However, I can't wait to read what she has in store for us next! I read a snipet and I'm literally jumping in my seat with joy as I type this review! You just never know what brand of crazy will be inspired and shine thru in her stories. I for one can't wait!

This isn't the end - really - it's just the beginning <3 span="">

SYNOPSIS:

CEO Aiden Kelley’s life of billionaire extravagance is flipped upside down when his ex shows up with a ten-year-old she claims is his. Totally out of his element and losing the control so integral to his success, he needs help. To top it all off, the only constant woman in his life, his executive assistant, has given notice just when he needs her help to survive his newfound fatherhood.

Chelsea Houston is an executive assistant, not a nanny. The only person more clueless about kids is her boss. Helping him on a daddy-daughter road trip is her last task before he’ll accept her two weeks’ notice and she can be free of the infuriating man she’s had a crush on for longer than she’d admit.

Aiden’s carefully ordered life has never been so disorganized, and he’s suddenly tempted by the things he thought he could never have. Things like love and family. Who knew chaos could be so damn fun?

Final Score - 4 Stars!

This is the first book I have read by this author and I have to say - I enjoyed it. What I didn't realize when I signed up to read/review this book was that it's part of a series. In any case, I will have to go back and read the first book of this series.

I understand the nuances of OCD disorder (as I myself suffer from them) and this book perfectly portrayed the complexities of the condition. I do have to admit that it was fun to watch Aiden's carefully constructed and controlled life change on a dime - not that he had any say over the matter mind you. But it was beautiful to watch him as he fell in love with his daughter (who wouldn't) ... and then Chelsea as well.

Waverly ... I absolutely adore this little girl! She provided the story with some moments of wit, humor and typically ten year old thinking - you know the one ... those on the cusp of turning from child to teenager.

I cannot wait to read further book by this author. I genuinely enjoyed her writing style.

Review: Ruckus

Ruckus Ruckus by L.J. Shen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Final Score - 5 Ruckus is MINE Stars!!

I've been anticipating this story since it was fist mentioned and all I can say is - IT LIVES UP TO THE HYPE! I adored Vicious in all his deliciousness, but Ruckus is by far my favorite and my one true LOVE of the #Hotholes and he is definitley a mustus!!!

This book is written in two duel PoV's (Rose and Dean's) and from two points in time (11 yrs ago and the present). Dean in the present is an over-worked, alcoholic. Roxie in the present is trying to maintain a normal life, despite her illness' limitations. Dean from 11 yrs ago is cocky, arrogant, and has just met the love of his life after knocking on the door of her house to ask her sister out.
Rose from 11 yrs ago has just met the love of her life, who she realizes she can never really have.

GAH! Romeo & Juliet have NOTHING over this tragic love story gone so terribly wrong. Rose and Dean's chance at love would be like watching a train wreck and it's aftermath. But it's not only the relationship between Rose & Dean that make this story excel, its the underlining relationships of parents & children and friends to friends - the damages we inflict on one another and on ourselves when secrets are kept/hidden from one another - that truly make this story a Ruckus of cosmic proportions!

Written with wit, drama and suspense, a style that I've come to expect from LJ Shen, Ruckus is a gem of a book. The book takes you on a rollercoaster ride that will not only leave you in tears, but will have you questioning your sanity. Side note: Make sure you read with tissues, as I didn't and well I made a mess of myself.

Another side note: I don't know how anyone could stay in love for 11 years, from afar, after having dated one's sister! Nevertheless, the guy finally got his girl, the one he was always meant to have, and made her dreams come true.

Review: Keeping Kyler

Keeping Kyler Keeping Kyler by Siobhan Davis
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Final Score - 4.5 Stars!!!

This book was an emotional rollercoaster, and I fear I will not be able to re-read this series in the near future. I may need to give myself time to recover.

Picking up where the last book (Losing Kyler) left off, Keeping Kyler starts with a bang and does not let up until the very end! I was pulled right away into happenings and throughout the entire story the adrenaline was definitely kicking in. Twist after twist is thrown at us. New information is constantly being handed off. Pieces of information you may have overlooked or written off in the first book come back to bite you in this one. The revelations in this book are mind-blowing, but of course at the crux of the story is Kyler and Faye's love for one another and how that love can not only change a person for the better, but helps to heal them as well.

Love and all that it encompasses is truly a thing of beauty to be valued and cherished.

The story does a wonderful job of bringing everything together from the prior books as well as adding more layers. The details are so well executed, you’d fear they'd be jam packed - not so. With so many things happening throughout the story, each one is carefully crafted and executed so well. This story will truly blow you mind in so many ways. Honestly, I wanted to scream my head off!

The emotional impact of this book ... gah! I was in knots for hours reading it. So much so, I had to take small breaks here and there or else I would never be able to handle it all. Reading the events from Kyler’s perspective absolutely broke my heart and ripped it apart. He was the character I was most worried about in this book - I feared he wouldn't make it through to the other side after the truths were revealed in the last book. I just wanted to be Faye in that moment and cuddle/hold him to my breast, he was so lost.

The only issue I had with this book was the dueling PoV's - Kyler's and Faye's. I want to learn all that I could about Kyler. We've already read from Faye's PoV in the previous books, but Kyler still remained an enigma of sorts. However, all that brooding and hostility and I have to say Faye's inner thoughts helped to sooth that destructive balm.

This book was the perfect ending to the first part of the Kennedy Boys Series, as I consider them to be one big book and not 3 separate ones.I can't wait to read more of this series as all the brother's will get a chance to shine - I'm especially looking forward to getting to know Keven & Kaden, the oldest brothers as they aren't mentioned much but in passing. Kalvin's story is another I'm extremely interested in reading as well as Brad's.

Review: Hold Me

Hold Me Hold Me by J. Kenner
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Final Score -4.5 Stars!!

I don't think I'll EVER be able to stop reading any novel/novella about Damien & Nikki! I can't get enough of them and their lives. They're one of my favorite couple ever to date, followed closely by Jane & Dallas and Sylvia & Jackson.  Ms. Kenner has once again written a novella that satisfies my need for MORE D&N after I finished reading Anchor Me.

This novella takes place about a year after Anchor Me and is about Damien & Nikki's life after adopting a child and having one of their own. Nikki is of course trying her best to have the best of both worlds, as most women do after having children.  However, life proves difficult for her when she has to go to the office and miss her babies' horribly.  She feels the guilt most mother's face when going back to work - missing out on her children's "firsts".

Damien, as always is protective and supportive of everything/anything Nikki does. I will never get tired reading of Damien's love for Nikki ... you can just feel it through the pages as it if it was a live entity. He's one of the most amazing male characters I've read so far, and his love for his family hold NO bounds.

This novella - to me - is great extended epilogue, if you will, to Anchor Me and is definitely worth the read.  I'm not nearly done with D&N and I hope Ms. Kenner isn't either ... because I want more!
