Review: Dirty Love

Dirty Love Dirty Love by Meghan March
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Final Score - 5 I'm Picking My Jaw Up from the Floor Stars!!!

Whoa! That's all I can think to say... W-H-O-A!!!

I knew Cav had secrets, but his secrets were mind boggling. Greer didn't know which was up after all of the revelations. I can't say as I blame her. It's a difficult pill to swallow.

I get why Cav had to walk away, but to know that he went to meet her, but left after seeing her?! WTF?! I can't believe he did that!

But now I'm left with even more questions! What happened to Dom? Did Holly have her baby? Why and how did Greer choose this new career?

Dirty Girl Dirty Girl by Meghan March
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Final Score - 5 OMFG STARS!!!

Poor Greer... first her boyfriend cheats, then the old ex returns and complete obliterates her world! Can't a girl catch a break?

Cav certainly has some explaining to do. Why DID he leave three years ago? Why get involved with Greer? Just who is he really?!

And that ending! I did NOT see that coming!

Onto the next part of this story...

Blog Tour - Lovegame by Tracy Wolff

Hailed by J. Kenner as an author who “knows how to steam up the pages,” Tracy Wolff delivers a darkly addictive novel of seduction and psychological obsession. The stakes are high in Lovegame, when a movie star with a shattered past meets a man who can either break her or make her whole.

True Crime novelist Ian Sharpe has spent his career writing about serial killers for very personal reasons. For his latest exposé, he is taking on the sadistic madman known as the Red Ribbon Strangler, and when his research leads him to Hollywood’s most private and provocative actress, he will break every rule to uncover her truth.

The daughter of one of Hollywood’s golden couples, chased by paparazzi and treated as a commodity her entire life, Veronica Romero wields her sex appeal like a weapon. She expects Ian to be as easy to control as every other man she’s ever known. But from the beginning, he refuses to fall into line. Mysterious and cool, challenging and just a little bit dangerous, Ian somehow makes her feel safe—even as he digs into the deepest secrets of her life and pushes her to the breaking point.

As raw ecstasy gives way to agonized truths, their dark obsession exposes secrets that have been buried for far too long. Ian wants to tear down her walls and heal the sensual woman underneath. But if Veronica’s learned anything, it’s that the line between pleasure and pain is a narrow one—and when caught between them the only thing that matters is how you play the game.

Lovegame is intended for mature audiences. This ebook includes a special message from the editor, as well as an excerpt from another Loveswept title.

Advance praise for Lovegame

Lovegame is a true masterpiece, with thrilling suspense, crazy hot sex, and writing so truly beautiful that it stays with you long after you put the book down. It’s my favorite read of the year by far.”—Sawyer Bennett, New York Times bestselling author of Sugar Daddy

Excerpt

“When are you going to stop deflecting and actually answer what I ask you?”

She freezes. “Excuse me?”

“I’m here to interview you and the last few questions I’ve asked, you’ve thrown back in my lap. I already know what I think—I’d like your thoughts or this article is going to end being an autobiography.”

“That’s not a bad idea. I’d read your autobiography in a heartbeat.”

“Yeah, well, you’d be the only one.” I take a bite of my burger, give her a minute to figure out that she’s not going to be able to charm her way out of this one. Then I ask again, “So, what is it like?”

Her shoulders tense, and suddenly it’s like a switch flips inside of her. Gone is the friendliness of the last fifteen minutes and in its place . . . in its place is something else entirely. “Being attractive?”

I shoot her a look that tells her to knock off the bullshit. “Being Maxim’s sexiest woman alive seven of the last ten years. Topping Esquire magazine’s sexiest list. Making People’s Most Beautiful list every year for the last decade. Being number one on IMDB’s top one hundred sexiest actresses of all time.” I pause, take a very deliberate sip of my water. “Should I keep going?”

“No. I think I get it.” Her voice is about ten degrees cooler than it was and as she purses her lips, narrows her eyes, I’m reminded of a children’s fairy tale. The better to see—hear—eat—you with, my darling. “It feels exactly like you’d expect it to feel.”

The whole thing is very definitely a warning to lay off this line of questioning, but all it does is intrigue me. And solidify my belief that Veronica Romero would play the hell out of the big, bad wolf.

Too bad I’m not cut out for the role of Little Red.

“Gratifying?” I ask. “Claustrophobic? Unsafe?”

This time when she laughs, it sounds nothing like tinkling bells and everything like high-end sex. I try not to respond, but it’s pretty hard not to notice the way the sound goes straight to my cock like it was designed specifically to get me hard.

“Nothing about this business is safe,” she tells me. “I thought you’d be the last person I’d have to explain that to.”

“All that money, all those bodyguards, and you still don’t feel secure?” It’s a direct salvo, one that hits the mark judging from the way her shoulders tense and the dimple disappears completely. For a moment I mourn its loss, but then I’m too caught up in her transformation to think about anything else.

“Silly, Ian,” she all but purrs as she lightly traces one dark purple fingernail across the back of my hand. She’s dripping sensuality now, wearing her sex appeal like Perrault’s wolf wears its teeth and claws. “In this town, it’s not bodyguards that keep you safe.”

Her fingertip is gliding over the inside of my wrist now, stroking back and forth in a rhythm that takes my dick from semi-aroused to fully hard in seconds. Then again, maybe that’s the way she’s looking at me, eyes hooded, lips wet and parted, cheeks just a little bit flushed.

“So, what does?” I have to clear my throat twice before I can get the question out.

It’s her turn to lift a brow. “I would think that was obvious.” Then she’s sucking her lower lip between her teeth, biting down oh-so gently. Her breath hitches just a little and—fuck—so does mine, though I know exactly what she’s doing. Turns out being forewarned doesn’t always mean forearmed. “I keep myself safe.”

“Touché.” I make a concerted effort to keep my voice—and my hand—steady, even as desire—pure, unadulterated lust—sweeps through me. I ignore it, concentrating instead on the list of questions that I have memorized. “Before we were sidetracked, we were talking about your tendency toward improvisation—”

“But you already got your question,” she tells me, cutting me off. “Several questions, in fact. Now it’s my turn.”

I could push, considering she’s given me a non-answer to pretty much everything I’ve asked her so far. But she’s not the only one who knows how to play games at this table. “Ask away,” I answer, smiling broadly. “I’m an open book.”

“Why do people always say that like it’s a good thing?” she asks, and if possible, her voice is even huskier—even sexier—than it was just a few minutes ago. “An open book only shows you two random pages in the middle of the action. How is that supposed to tell you everything you want to know?”

“I guess that depends on the pages, doesn’t it?”

“Perhaps it does at that.” She looks me over, her eyes lingering on my mouth, my chest, my hands. “What two pages are you going to use to portray me?”

“Whichever two you show me.”

She smiles at that and this time it is the man-slayer she’s so famous for. Her hand is at her throat, her fingers deliberately toying with the amethyst pendant that rests just between her breasts.

“That is exactly what I hoped you’d say.”

I try to ignore the sudden sensation of bite marks on my ass, but it’s not easy. Especially when it hits me that I’ve just lost the first battle of whatever game we’re playing.

Read my 4 STAR review

About the Author:

Tracy Wolff collects books, English degrees and lipsticks and has been known to forget where—and sometimes who—she is when immersed in a great novel. At six she wrote her first short story—something with a rainbow and a prince—and at seven she forayed into the wonderful world of girls lit with her first Judy Blume novel. By ten she’d read everything in the young adult and classics sections of her local bookstore, so in desperation her mom started her on romance novels. And from the first page of the first book, Tracy knew she’d found her life-long love. Now an English professor at her local community college, she writes romances that run the gamut from contemporary to paranormal to erotic suspense.

And for all of those who want the unedited version:

Tracy Wolff lives with four men, teaches writing to local college students and spends as much time as she can manage immersed in worlds of her own creation. Married to the alpha hero of her dreams for twelve years, she is the mother of three young sons who spend most of their time trying to make her as crazy as possible.

Review: Saving a Legend

Saving a Legend Saving a Legend by Sarah Robinson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Final Score - 4 Stars

***Received this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review***

While I enjoyed this book, I found it hard to get through at times. My main bane of frustration from the beginning to end had to do with both Kieran & Fiona's secrets from each other. There were times when I wanted to slap them both for not being more forthcoming about their pasts. However, this book still ended well to me and with a realistic ending.

Another character I couldn't relate to was Rory. He was just such a dick at time towards his brother in the book. I couldn't understand it! And I was so disappointed in him... in his actions. Nearly broke my heart as I fell for him in the first book!

The character I truly fell in with was little Shea. She tugged at my heart and because of her, I got through the reading of this book. I just had to know how Fiona & Kieran's half-truths to each other would effect her - esp. given her condition.

I'm ready for the next book in this series... and hopefully, these characters - esp. Kieran & Rory - will have grown up a bit more.

Excerpt

Once upon a time, he’d been my everything.

He was standing in the corner talking to one of her great aunts, holding an empty glass that my brother had kept filled with whiskey all afternoon. I wanted to help—to do something, anything, to take that dark, stormy look out of his eyes—so I asked him if he wanted to get some air.

He took my proffered hand without a word, but instead of leading me outside like I expected—maybe to the front porch for a breath of the cool February air—he towed me upstairs. And straight into the bathroom. Without a word, he pulled my black cashmere sweater off over my head.

I stood there shocked for a few seconds. This was Shaw—my former best friend and secret lifelong crush. The man who once held my heart in the palm of his hand when I was young and foolish. And he had just been through the most traumatic event of his twenty-six years—losing his wife to a drunk driver. Yet here he was, singularly focused on getting me naked, and seemingly as quickly as possible.

Review: Lovegame

Lovegame Lovegame by Tracy Wolff
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Final Score – 4 Stars

***received this ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review***

Ian Sharpe is a novelist, trying to uncover the truth behind a Hollywood starlet’s connection to serial killer. Sent to get an exclusive interview with the very private actress, Ian has no clue what he’s is about to uncover or the Pandora’s box of hurt and betrayal that will forever mar his path.

Veronica Romero is considered Hollywood royalty as the daughter of one of Hollywood's golden couples. Chased, used and betrayed by those closest to her, she’s perfected a shield of armor. Known for being mysterious, cool, and challenging, Ian somehow breaks through Veronica’s carefully constructed walls, but how far will he go?

The book had raw ecstasy, agonized truths unfold, & dark/dangerous obsessions that were exposed. The sex scenes were H-A-W-T and there were times when had to take a five-minute break, but it always left me wanting more. The big mystery of the “connection” will keep you guessing throughout the entire book, but I pretty much called it from the beginning.

There were a couple of chapters in the first 25% of the book where I couldn’t connect with either Ian, Veronica, or the story. I struggle a bit, to the point where I actually had to put the book down for one whole day before I picked it back up again. I got thru those chapters, just knowing I would be awarded in the end – and I wasn’t wrong nor left disappointed.

Ian is not your stereotypical hero. Yes, he's a total alpha male, but he’s also determined and passionate about uncovering the truth – to the point of being near-sighted. This will get him into trouble later in the story. Veronica is his match in every-way, however she keeps herself carefully hidden behind smoke & shadows, using her persona as a shield to prevent anyone from getting too close to her secrets. From their first meeting, you sense that the chemistry between these two is going to be off the charts HOT ... and you are not going to be disappointed in the least! As the story develops and their battle of wills ensues, they play the ultimate game of cat and mouse, where the weapons they use are seduction, passion, and sex. Their connection to each other is not just emotional but mental. They play off each other and give as good as they get.

Erotic suspense lovers will find this book right up their alley. Ms. Wolff created an enticing journey's for her characters although I was left wanting with the big reveal. I felt it was missing something. The epilogue was both poignant and well deserved, leaving me with the feeling of satisfaction that I completed my reading of this book. I appreciate the chance I was given to read this book and look forward to reading more from Tracy Wolff in the future.

Review: Comanche Heart

Comanche Heart Comanche Heart by Catherine Anderson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Final Score - 4 I May Need a Minute Stars...

Amy has been left emotionally scarred, unable to trust any man... even the one who stole her heart so many years ago.

Swift Antelope is a Comanche warrior. Years ago, he met a battered & bruised little girl and pledge himself to her, but she left without a word.

This is my second time re-reading (first time reviewing). Comanche Heart is well-written. Ms Anderson must have given unusual devotion to her research into Comanche culture and era of the book, which added a realistic touch.

However, it’s also not without its faults - the story dragged, especially with the back and forth between Swift and Amy & there are elements of the book that left me questioning why did I re-read this. I'm all for accurate representation of the times, as these were often very violent times, it just left a bitter taste in my mouth and tears in my eyes.

Nevertheless, Comanche Heart is still a good read, with the strength here being Ms. Anderson's strong story-telling and writing. It’s not in the same class as being one of my favorites, but in my opinion is one of the best Native American historical romances written.

I need time to move onto the other books from this series, as they deal with other members of Amy and Antelope's extended family and to process what I've read and to come to terms with it.

I will say that I did not put it down all day, so it was definitely all encompassing.

From the New York Times bestselling authors of Stuck-Up Suit and Cocky Bastard, comes a sexy new standalone novel.

Money or love? Which would you choose?

You probably just answered the question in your head thinking it's an easy decision.

For me, it's not. Did I mention it's a lot of money? A hell of a lot.

I needed to go far away to think it through.

As I embarked on an impulsive trip, I hit a detour when I met sexy Carter in the airport lounge. We struck up a heated conversation.

Then, he left.

I thought I'd never see him again.

But fate had other plans.

Surprise! He was the pilot of my flight.

The bigger surprise was the adventure that followed after the plane landed.

Carter was dangerous and always on the move.

Even though our connection was magnetic, I knew it was only temporary.

He would give me tickets, and I would follow him around the world to exotic places.

A bevvy of flight attendant exes and rumors about Carter's reputation were never far behind.

I didn't know what to believe.

But I was addicted. Nothing else mattered anymore. And I was going to get hurt. Because a part of me wanted to be the one to finally ground the playboy pilot.

At the very least, he was taking me on a thrilling ride.

All good things must come to an end, right?

Except our ending was one I didn't see coming.

Cover Reveal for Filthy Foreign Exchange 2 by S.E. Hall & Angela Graham!

... to be released on June 14th, 2016!

The conclusion to Echo and Kingston's story...

When Echo Kelly is invited on a backpacking trip throughout the UK, she jumps at the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, refusing to let one fleeting past exchange stop her.

At least, that’s what she’s convinced herself of, until the moment she sees him again. It’s not the one-time “run-in” she was expecting, and therefore prepared to handle.

Instead, it’s an announcement she never saw coming…he’s the tour guide.

She’s got no backup plan for that.

Take A Peek Inside

“Disappointed?” he asks with smug confidence.

“About?” I mutter too quickly…too transparently.

His deep laugh slashes through the air.

“You know exactly what—and we both know the answer is yes.”

The sexual magnetism between us is thick. He grabs me by the hips and pulls me to him, breaking the silence with a hoarse whisper.

“My sentimental, romantic Echo isn’t wearing the look of a woman who just got the kiss she’s always dreamed of—pictured a million times.”

He lets his gaze roam over me, slow and seductive, then stares right into my eyes and demands, in growled authority, “Wipe it off.”

“Wh-what?” I stammer breathlessly.

He tugs me closer—hard—our bodies now fused together.

“Wipe. It. Off,” he repeats. “Get him off your lips—my lips—and swear to me you’ll never think of it again. Because knowing you didn’t want or like it, and will easily forget it, is the only thing stopping me from beating the bloody piss out of him right now.”

New Release Tuesday - His to Love (Fireside Book #1) by Stacey Lynn!

In the explosive debut of Stacey Lynn’s irresistible Fireside series, a pair of estranged lovers are reunited by dangerous loyalties—and intoxicating desire.

Tyson Blackwell never saw it coming when his Mafia princess girlfriend dumped him and disappeared at the age of eighteen. He never forgot her, either, even after what happened next: the killing of his father, a Detroit PD officer, at the hands of one of her father’s men. Tyson swore revenge, and now, ten years later, the kid who dreamed of a pro football career is a hard-nosed FBI agent, back in town to take down the Galecki crime family once and for all. But Tyson’s mission gets complicated fast—because going undercover means seducing the only woman he’s ever loved.

Gabriella “Blue” Galecki has been in hiding for a decade. She finally comes home to spend time with her terminally ill mother, only to receive a blast from the past when she runs into Tyson. His brooding eyes and electrifying touch still send chills down her spine. But as heir to the family empire, Blue has been promised to another. Caught in a web of deception, she is tempted to pull the trigger on the boldest risk she’s ever taken: trusting Tyson with her life, her body, and her heart.
