Fake Fiancée by Ilsa Madden-Mills
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Final Score - 5 I DEFINITELY HAVE A NEW BOOK-BOYFRIEND Stars!!!
Max! Oh my ... He is an alpha, with a side of vulnerability and compassion, not to mention honest. However, his one BIG character flaw/draw back is that everything in his life comes in second to his first love - Football. Oh Max, you clueless idiot! *rolls eyes*
Sunny is vulnerability but tough - she's had to make herself that way after a traumatic experience in her life. She's not going to let anyone stand in her way either or let them railroad her either. So how in the world did these two polar opposites meet? By chance ... or is it fate? A late night car crash, an almost certain death lands Sunny right in the middle of Max's existence. And neither of them will be the same because of it.
However, after this night they don't meet again until nearly 3 years later - while both attend the same school. Sunny has heard of Max - who hasn't as he's the star quarterback - but she's not impressed. She's done the whole jock thing and after her last experience, she's unwilling to try it again. So when they meet - they live across the street from one another - Max hatches a plan. Pretend to be dating to keep the groupies out of his hair and he'll not only pay her, but fix her car (after one groupie nearly destroyed Sunny's beloved car). What could go wrong?
I'm still reeling from this book. It made me laugh out loud, it made me hurt & cry, it frustrated me, it made me believe somewhat in the power of universe bring people into your life, to help you see what you are missing. For Max, it forced him to consider someone ... something other than Football, and that sometimes - we only get one chance in a lifetime to find a love we should hold onto and never let go of.
Simply said, this a #MustReReads if ever there was one!
